The Gilis in South Lombok are not part of the same group as the Gili Islands in North Lombok (despite the name), but rather lies in close proximity to the southwest coast of Lombok. The word “Gili” simply means “small island” in Indonesian. Those spots are free of traffic, with beautiful unspoilt nature, coconut palm trees, white sandy beaches and turquoise blue sea, just a perfect getaway! On Gili Gede and few others, the small local population still make a traditional living building wooden boats and (pearl) fishing.
We’ll leave our anchorage at 7am in the morning and sail for 3 hours towards Gili Asahan that we reach after breakfast. Then, we can have a walk through the island with great vistas from hilltops over the surrounding islands. Later in the morning we move to nearby uninhabited Gili Layar for a bit of snorkeling on a preserved reef. Lunch on board, then we move again to a tiny uninhabited island for the afternoon: beach, snorkeling and other activities. In the evening, BBQ on the beach under the stars. Night at anchor.
After breakfast, we take a walk along the beach to visit a village in Gili Gede. Late morning on we will enjoy another tiny and uninhabited island, for more leisure. Early afternoon, we sail for an hour to Gili Tangkong: you can explore the large coconut grove there and enjoy a long, powdery beach all for yourself. Dinner on board. Night at anchor.
We leave our anchorage at 5am to sail back to Gili Trawangan or Gili Air or disembarking after breakfast in Gili Gede where it’s possible to get a speedboat to Bali.
End of the trip and transfer to your hotel.
