Let’s explore the land of the world’s biggest lizards, Komodo National Park. Currents are pretty known in the area to drag flows of dolphins, sharks, manta or eagle rays, pelagics and schools of fish… Four full days to enjoy this world class snorkeling area and discover the wonders of Komodo National Park. Not forgetting the excursions whose few hikes and the encounter with the huge komodo dragons, masters of this savannah’s territory.
While this is the description of a typical Snorkeling trip, actual trips may vary due to wind and sea conditions, weather or guests preference (Diving excursions).
Day 1
Labuan Bajo – Rinca – Kalong
Upon arrival in Labuan Bajo, you will be picked up at airport by our team to join the boat. Welcome drink, boat briefing including safety rules on board and introduction of the crew members.
Sailing towards the island of Rinca to visit the traditional village where the “Bajo” people, an ancient Sea Gypsies population, now sedentary, live in their colored houses that are built on stilts and exclusively from the products of the sea. (45min). Then we’re heading to Pula Kaba for bathing and snorkeling session.
We’ll enjoy a nice appetizer during sunset while we observe thousands of bats flying away before an amazing dinner to end this beautiful day.
Day 2
Komodo dragons – North Komodo – Manta Point
Depending on the tides, we will decide the time of departure towards Rinca and we will head north to join the bay of “Loh Buaya” where our local guide awaits for us to meet the infamous Komodo Dragons which can measure up to 3.50 meters!
It is pretty common during this ballad to cross hinds, pigs, monkeys and wild buffalo.
Dive 1: Batu Bolong, one of the highlight of Komodo. This famous rock in the middle of the Linta strait is often synonym of strong currents. Being careful in the planning of the dive will allow us to fully enjoy this spectacular dive site. Walls, pinnacles, breathtaking coral and marine life.
Dive 2: Karang Makassar, a shallow drift dive to search for the stars of the national park: the Manta rays!
Day 3
Gili Lawa Darat
Awakening in an idyllic surroundings followed by a healthy breakfast, we enjoy the magic of Komodo park and this feeling to the world end’s, before heading to North of the Park!
Dive 1: Golden Passage, a dive which can become very exciting. This channel separating Komodo Island from Gili Lawa Darat Island is a great drift with bumphead parrot fish, ignobilis and white tip sharks.
Dive 2: The Cauldron holds its name from this circus shape. Here again, we dive in an amazing topography where we often have great surprises such as manta rays that can pop up here.
A superb hike awaits for you at sunset with a breathtaking view on the park panorama.
Day 4
Crystal Bay
Dive 1: Castle Rock, a must! This seamount located in North of Gili Lawa Laut is worldwide famous worldwide for its incredible underwater activity. For this dive particularly, we will enter the water in the blue and reach the split to observe napoleons, dog tooth tunas, grey reef sharks and white tip sharks surrounded by schools of trevallies and fusiliers.
Dive 2: Crystal Rock, as rich as Castle Rock, this site can be more impressive for its sumptuous topography and the diversity of the coral.
In the middle of the afternoon, we will head towards the island of Kanawa where we will anchor for the night.
Day 5
Kanawa and return to Labuan Bajo
Kanawa is a charming islet bordered by a beautiful white sandy beach where we will make a last stop for swimming and relaxation.
Return to Labuan Bajo (1h to 1h30 sailing), latest at 2pm.
End of the trip, transfer to the airport according to your flight schedule.
