12 days trips will take you either to the wilder and cooler Southern part of the National Park, where you’ll meet strange invertebrate and Mobulas, or towards the North to the untouched island of Banta and the Sangeang volcano, where you can experience the “Bubble Dive” or swim with schools of barracudas.
Keep in mind that currents can be strong and unpredictable at Komodo National Park (Guess why some dive sites are called High Voltage or ShotGun?) which is what makes this cruise such an Adventure !
Length: 12 Days / 12 Nights (Approximately 35 dives in total)
Experience level: Open Water – 30 minimum logged dives required
While this is the description of a typical dive trip, actual trips may vary due to wind and sea conditions, weather or guests preference.
Day 1 (2 dives):
LABUANBAJO – KOMODO
Pick up from the airport and transfer to the boat.
Welcome drink and introduction of the boat, cruise and team.
Check dive on the easy but beautiful reef of Sebayur Kecil.
2nd dive on the Mini Wall of Sebayur.
Day 2 (4 dives):
Morning Drift dive on Tatawa Besar.
Batu Bolong and Karang Makassar will make your day for sure!
Night Dive in Siaba Besar.
Day 3 (3 dives):
CENTRAL KOMODO – KOMODO NORTH
Morning dive at Siaba Besar also known as Turtle City, and heading to North Komodo.
Meet the Komodo Sharks at Crystal Rock and Castle Rock.
Sunset trek on Gili Lawa Darat.
Day 4 (3 dives) :
Morning wakeup call on the “ShotGun” of the Cauldron, more sharks and big stuff in Golden Passage, and a night dive on Gili Lawa Darat.
Day 5 (3 dives) :
Heading back to Central Komodo
Enjoy another strong drift in Siaba Kecil and its amazing and colorful coral garden.
Explore Siaba Besar 2 ways: muck diving on the sandy plateau, and Turtle City on the coral reef
Day 6 (3 dives) :
Try to meet the Manta Rays again at Mawan.
Explore the canyon and the Fish Bowl in Police Corner along the wall hosting nudibranchs and Mantis Shrimps !
Sunset dive at Waenilu to try to spot the beautiful Mandarin fish mating dance, and look for zebra crabs and coleman shrimps on the colorful fire urchins
Day 7 (2 dives) :
Morning dive in Batu Bolong’s little sister: Pulau Tengah Kecil.
Heading to Padar by a stop at Payung.
Trekking at Padar Island and its 3 sandy bays, just in time to enjoy a beautiful sunset with warm pink and orange colors.
Day 8 (3 dives) :
PADAR – NUSA KODE
Get the first taste of South Komodo on our 3 Sisters spot, and going “mucky” on Secret Garden. If lucky, it could be THE meeting with Mobula rays!
Pilarsteen will complete the day, before navigation towards Nusa Kode.
Day 9 (3 dives) :
Wake up with the unique Komodo Dragons watching you from the beach.
Yellow Wall, Cannibal Rock and Torpedo will let you speechless.
Day 10 (4 dives) :
Get more of the South with Rodeo, Crinoids Canyon and Banana Reef.
Night dive on Torpedo to look for the Torpedo Ray that the spot is called after.
Day 11 (3 dives) :
SOUTH to CENTRAL
Get a last chance to spot the Gentle Giants at Manta Alley (2 dives possible there).
Explore the little wreck of Lok Sera before heading back to the Central area.
Day 12 (2 dives) :
CENTRAL – LABUANBAJO
Get to dive Batu Bolong the other side for another great experience !
Sabolon Besar will be your last dive on that trip, exploring the underwater mountain to look for pygmy seahorses, popcorn pr bubble coral shrimps, or white tip reef sharks.
Arrival at LabuanBajo on the afternoon. Exploration of the city, diner on board or in the city, night on board.
Day 13 :
Breakfast on board, transfer to the airport or hotel.
