Jakaré offers Discovery and Diving Cruises in the National Park, lasting 12 Days / 11 Nights, open for divers and non-divers. Each cruise is unique, and tailor made based on the group composition and desires. Daily programs are presented, discussed and confirmed with the guests on board every evening for the day after. We organise our cruise to suit every need, without compromises.
For the divers, we propose up to 3 dives per day, sometime 4 dives / day with a night dive. Activities for non-divers and divers include snorkelling, kayaking and Stand up Paddle, trekking, pristine beach discovery, village discovery, bird and animals watching. All locations are carefully selected. All activities are guided, including the snorkelling.
We also propose Yoga/breathing/relaxation and Free Diving activities on demand, with highly qualifies and experienced teachers.
Here we share relevant extracts of 10D/9N itinerary overview that gives a good understanding of our cruises program. For each day, the overview, the experience of ONE key activity / highlight and the key diving sites are described. It should be noted that our proposed Itinerary is for planning purpose only and subject to weather and actual conditions on board and at location
The 10D/9N cruise includes between 18 and 25 dives.
Day 1:
We pick up the guests early morning in Sorong at the airport or their hotel, then boarding JAKARE in the port of Sorong. After a general and safety presentation by the Cruise Director, Jakare departs toward Waigeo. Sailing to Yanbuba village on Pulau Mansuar, arrival end afternoon / early evening. Anchorage/overnight Yanbuba.
One key experience of the day
Depending on the time of arrival, visit the nice village of Yanbuba and / or snorkel at the jetty in amazing snorkelling spots observing schools of big fishes (snappers, barracudas…) hunting. (Option: If arrival is early enough, check-dive is organized for the divers.)
Day 2
Dive at Yanbuba and enjoy the amazing sand bank and preserved coral reefs. Then Jakare will move to nearby Cape Kri. Dive beautiful Cape Kri and then sail to nearby Saunderek for diving, snorkelling and village discovery / beach in the afternoon. Jakare then sails to nearby Pulau Yangaffo for overnight (possibly night dive).
One key experience of the day
Cape Kri: Drift dive where schools of yellow sweet lips and silver trivalis, Dogtooth tunas, mackerels and Barracudas can be observed as well as reef sharks. It has been recorded 374 different species in the area which became a world famous dive site for its huge numbers of diversity. It is a steep slope with a vast garden of colourful hard and soft corals.
Diving is proposed at Yanbuba Jetty/Reef, Cape Kri and Saunderek Jetty / Reef.
Day 3
Dive/snorkel in Yangaffo in the morning and/or enjoy the kayak/paddle in the magic and unspoiled mangrove area. In the afternoon, Jakare heads north to Aljui Bay and take a mooring in front of the pearl farm. Overnight in Aljui Bay (possibly night dive).
One key experience of the day
Wake up early with the sun, go for a swim in the warm and calm waters surrounding the Jakare and spend some time just listening to the sound of the white kakatoes and the all mangrove waking up with a nice cup of coffee or tea.
Diving is proposed at Citrus Ridge, Mayhem and Mangrove Ridge.
Day 4
Sail from Aljui Bay to Pulau Kawe where diving/snorkelling is organised, then continue North, pass the equator and reach amazing Wayag in the afternoon.
One key experience of the day
Eagle Rock where you’re likely to spot mantas using the many cleaning stations or feeding on the surface in the channel between two of the islands. In a labyrinth of gigantic boulders covered with an array of citrus colored soft coral, wobbegong sharks like to hide.
Diving is proposed at Black Rock and Eagle Rock at Pulau Kawe West.
Day 5
Wake up and Ascent Mt Pindito early morning and then dive or discover Wayag inner lagoon and its pristine white-sandy beaches with kayaks, paddles or speed boats. Then Sail to Kawe East or West depends on the weather situation. Dive Kawe East or West and further continue south to Pulau Wofoh. Arrive end afternoon, anchoring and overnight at Pulau Wofoh

Wayag sceneries are just amazing and the experience cannot be described by word! Has to be lived!
Diving is proposed at Wayag secret dives, One Tree Rock and equator island (Kawe)
Day 6
Wake up and dive (Wall and Slope) or enjoy the beach and snorkel. The snorkelling is just amazing there with unspoiled hard and soft coral gardens. Then sail to nearby Pulau Mayafun in the afternoon. Anchor and overnight at Pulau Mayafun quite bay.
One key experience of the day
Easy diving in the south part of the island, on a beautiful wall and sandy valley surrounded by amazing soft and hard corals. School of trevalis, blue and yellow fusiles, turtles are usually encountered
Diving is proposed at Wofoh Wall, Wofoh Slope and Wofoh Reef
Day 7
Jakare sails early to Pulau Pienemu where she takes her anchorage in the south of the island, close to the diving locations. Dive Keruo Chanel and Melissa Garden, enjoy the snorkelling and beach around Jakare anchoring area then walk on top of the limestone mount and enjoy the amazing view then sail to Pulau Yangaffo and overnight there (night dive can be organised).
One key experience of the day
Melissa Garden is a current dive. Made of fantastic pinnacles covered in soft corals and anemones of all different colours. The pinnacle is home to large schools of fusiliers, jack fish, and batfish. Giant trevallies are also spotted here along with snappers, and rainbow runners. In the shallower parts, there will be larger groups of sweetlips and lionfish, as well as many other reef fish of the area.

Day 8
Sail early morning to Pulau Arborek a small island in the middle of the Dampier straight. Dive the famous Arborek Jetty, visit the village, enjoy the beach and excellent snorkelling and dive at the nearby Manta Ray cleaning station Manta ridge or Manta Sandy. Then sail to Friwen across the straight and overnight there.
One key experience of the day
Arborek Jetty: beautiful dive, starting or finishing at the jetty depending on the current. Giant clams can be found just in front of the jetty. Beautiful soft and hard coral garden with school of fusiliers, groupers and silver trevally encountered even below the Jetty.

Day 9
Jakare sails early to Pulau Miskon and stays on anchor while diving activities are carried out at Pulau Mioskon and Blue Magic in early morning. Then in the afternoon sail to Nearby Pulau Friwen. Rest and enjoy Friwen amazing beach and beautiful coral reef. Dinner will be served on the beach with a BBQ and Party! Jakare will leave after the BBQ to Sorong and sail overnight.
One key experience of the day
Dive Blue Magic, a non-emergent pinnacle located in the north west of the Dampier Straight and offer current dives on dynamic reefs facing directly the current. The all food chain is on open display there, from reef fishes feeding on rich waters full of nutrients to big pelagic including sometime Mantas Rays. Schools of yellow fins barracudas, yellow snappers, silver trevally are very common as well as dogtooth tunas, giant trevally and black tip and white tip sharks.
Diving proposed at Mioskon reef, Blue Magic and Sardine Reef.
Day 10
The last day will be dedicated to travel back to Sorong and get ready for the end of the cruise. Filling the diving log books, stamping the log book by the Diving Instructor / dive master and exchanging addresses and photos from the wonderful time spent together. A small ceremony and good-byes from the Crew will be organised on board the Jakare before leaving the boat to the airport or hotel.
(Assuming that the guests will be flying out in the afternoon of Day 10, no diving activities are organised on the Day 9 afternoon. Other options may be proposed).
The route and dives are always organized according to the weather conditions, the currents and tides.
