Cahaya Mandiri is a Phinisi boat built in 2002 in Labuan Bajo following the traditional methods applied since the 14^th century. After 5 years transporting merchandise between Flores and Sulawesi, it was totally refurbished in 2007 to start a new life and bring travelers on wonderful voyages through the Indonesian archipelago.

Nowadays, Cahaya Mandiri is specialized in snorkeling cruises around Komodo, Sunda Islands and Raja Ampat. Its crew composed of expert local sailors is always happy to share its knowledge and to organize the best possible snorkeling adventures in the Indonesian seas as well as visits of authentic little villages for an amazing immersive experience.

Not luxurious, yet comfortable, Cahaya Mandiri is the perfect vessel for those dreaming of adventure! On the upper deck, the “star deck”, located right in front of the captain room, is the best place for star gazing, watch the sunset, admire the infinite view or spot the dolphins. The “living & sleeping room” located at the back is composed of a central table surrounded by comfy sleeping mattresses and can host up to 8 persons. It’s the perfect place to socialize with your fellow explorers, rest, have a nap or even sleep at night enjoying the lullaby of the water.

On the main deck, at the front, a big table hosts the delicious meals cooked by the passionate chef. Covered during the day, this area is perfect to unwind breathing the fresh salty air while sailing from an island to another. At the back, the kitchen is the head quarter of the crew members who like to sit here to play chess, chat and laugh together. Feel free to join to share a good time with these smiling sailors, be involved in the fishing or to grab a book in the small library. The two bathrooms, equipped with pure water and biodegradable soap & shampoo, are located at each side of the main deck.

The lower deck is the sleeping area of the guests! It is composed of 4 cabins, all equipped with a double bed and a single bed, European electric plugs, bed sheets, pillows and towels. That’s where you can have a quiet night dreaming about your daily explorations.

During your cruise aboard Cahaya Mandiri, you will be free to use the snorkeling & fishing gears provided, as well as the sea kayaks to explore the surroundings on your own. The welcoming crew on board, composed of 7 Indonesian sailors and an Indonesian English & French-speaking guide, will take care of you at all time and make your trip absolutely unforgettable. You will probably be sad to leave your Cahaya Mandiri family, but the good news is you can come back any time to explore another part of the archipelago with them!
